PROJECT BRIEF · THE FOUNDATION

Everything we need to plan your film.

About ten minutes. Answer what you know and write "your call" where you don't; the plan comes back to every open question. Answers save on this device as you type. Passwords never do.

  1. This briefWho it's for, what it shows, what it must not say.
  2. The planThe idea, a sketch of every shot, a fixed price. Sign-off one.
  3. The animaticThe film blocked out at real timing. Sign-off two.
  4. The masterMeasured against the delivery spec. Sign-off three.

01 · YOU

Who we're making it with

The person who approves the plan, the animatic and the master.

02 · THE FILM

What it is, and what it's for

What are we making?*
After watching, what should a viewer do?*

One action, as specific as you can make it. The whole film is built backwards from it.

Where does it run first?*

Pick the one that matters most. A version for another platform is a different edit, and we plan it as one.

03 · THE PRODUCT

Your product

Pick what we're making in section 02 and this section fits itself to it.

One task followed from start to finish holds a viewer longer than a list of features.

Films about your app are made in its own fonts and colours.

Only real numbers go on screen, each one with a source.

We name the material before we light it. Soap, resin and glass each catch light differently, and a wrong guess shows.

Front, back, both sides and top, on a plain background in even light. Ten is a good set. The 3D product is built from these, so its proportions match yours.

A person on screen?

04 · AUDIENCE

The person on the other side of the screen

How well do they know you?

This decides the opening. A stranger needs the problem first; a customer needs the news first.

Languages they watch in

05 · WHAT GOES IN

Length, formats, and the pieces

Tick what you want. Leave it to us where you're not sure: we pick the right tool for each shot in the plan.

06 · REFERENCES

What it should feel like

Three to five links to videos or frames. Say what each one is for: a reference for colour is a different instruction from a reference for pace.

07 · BRAND

How it should look and sound

08 · ACCESS

Getting into the product

We record your real product, so we need to get in. A demo or staging account is best.

How do we get access?

ENCRYPTED IN YOUR BROWSER
These four fields are locked with the studio's public key before they leave this page (RSA-OAEP 3072 with AES-256-GCM). Only the studio machine holds the key that opens them. They are never saved on this device. Use a demo or staging account, never an owner or admin login, and change the password once the film ships.

09 · TIME AND BUDGET

When, and roughly how much

Is the date fixed?

Not sure? Price it first, then come back; your answers here stay put.

10 · DELIVERY AND RIGHTS
